Lisbon Area Golf Hotels and Golf Courses

Within 70 miles of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, we can make advanced bookings on 18 golf courses, which are open to visitors.

When deciding which of the Lisbon courses to play in the Lisbon area you should take account of where you are staying and the journey times to the Lisbon courses.

Most courses require players to present their handicap certificates before play. The handicap limits of the courses for men and then ladies are shown in the table.

Quinta da Marinha
The Quinta da Marinha course, set amongst beautiful pine trees and stretching down to Guincho beach, has some of the most majestic scenery In Portugal. Its hole number 13, a Par 4 descending to the sea, is a picture postcard of Portuguese golf.

Oitavos
Oitavos Golf in Quinta da Marinha is the 1st Golf Course in Europe and the 2nd in the World to as a Certified Signature Sanctuary - Gold.

Penha Longa
The Penha Longa course enjoys championship characteristics, an excellent level of maintenance and beautiful panoramic views over the Sintra mountain range. In 1994 and 1995 it was the location for the Portuguese Open Championship.

Mosteiro
Penha Longa has now a new nine hole course - called Mostelro - offering a new alternative to the existing course.

Estoril Sol
Estoril Sol is a beautiful nine hole course offering golfers a challenge that is both pleasurable and varied, including one of the country's best practice areas.

Estoril
One of the oldest and best-known golf courses in Portugal, Estoril was the location of the Portuguese Open Championship between 1953 and 1972. Many champions - including Max Faulkner and Seve Ballesteros - have walked the fairways of this course.

Quinta da Beloura
Quinta da Beloura, with fine views over the Sintra mountain range and a course surrounded by trees on flat terrain, provides a very pleasurable game of golf.

Belas
The latest course opened on the Lisbon's Coast, designed by Rocky Roquemore. Its eighteen holes extend over 6,128 meters for a Par 72.

Lisbon Sports Club
Situated very close to Lisbon and blending harmoniously into a romantic landscape, this is a course that demands both skill and imagination, because of a watercourse that affects the nature of the game played over more than twelve of the holes.

Aroeira 1
Set beside the south bank of the Tagus just a few minutes from Lisbon, Aroeira is a course that perfectly reconciles the requirements of a championship course whilst being set in beautiful landscape.

Quinta do Peru
With the Arrabida mountain range as its backdrop, the Quinta do Peru Golf Course is the newest of the courses situated in a region of castles to the south of river Tagus.

Troia
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, this is one of the most fascinating golf challenges in Portugal, laid out across a peninsula close to the sea, with the majestic backdrop of the Arrabida mountain range, and surrounded by beaches.

Montado
One of the country's newest golf courses set in flat terrain, Montado's landscape is dotted with oaks and Intersected by rivulets and small lakes.

Belavista
This is the first municipal golf course to be built in Portugal and is located in the very heart of Lisbon, close to the airport.

Praia d'El Rey
Set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlenga Islands beyond.

Quinta de Briçal
A course designed by Rocky Roquemore set on a property near Rio Maior, 55 kms north of Lisbon, it occupies almost the double of an ordinary course.

Vimeiro
Famous for the excellent conditions under which its 9 holes are kept, Vimeiro is situated in a beautiful landscape of farming land and is famous for the healing properties of its waters.
